Zebra LTE Migration supporting 2G/3G networks

Using a consumer smartphone for work just doesn’t work. Finally, a smartphone built to handle your workplace. The Zebra TC25 Rugged Smartphone brings durability, reliability and productivity to your pocket. With a built-in barcode scanner, snap-on external PowerPack and optional Zebra OneCare™ SV protection, it’s designed to be the perfect partner for anyone who works for a living. Read further on to find out all the available mobile devices from Zebra supporting the LTE network from Verizon, Sprint and others.

The LTE Migration campaign will get you up to speed on the CDMA/3G sunset and equip you with end-user facing tools that you can use to educate your customers on the current situation. The campaign will help you create a sense of urgency to encourage customers to migrate now to Zebra’s Android LTE portfolio.

Verizon is the first U.S. carrier to formally announce that they will only commit to supporting 2G/3G through December 31, 2019. After December 31, 2019, they will begin taking down the network.

This could impact your customers before the end of 2018, since Verizon will no longer activate non-LTE devices after June 2018, and is already re-purposing its assets for LTE. As of yet, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile have not formally announced plans to retire their 3G networks. However, industry experts believe that it is only a matter of time before they do so.

Verizon’s announcement, combined with Microsoft’s announcement on the end of life support for its Windows Mobile and Embedded Compact Operating Systems, presents a lucrative refresh opportunity and creates an even bigger sense of urgency for customers to upgrade their hardware and software to Zebra’s Android LTE portfolio. Some of the Mobile Computers using the LTE networks can be seen in the video below.

Benefits of Migrating to LTE

  • Greater coverage
  • Increased reliability
  • 10x the data speeds of 3G
  • Shortened latency times
  • Simultaneous voice + data
  • Noticeably better voice quality on VoLTE than 3G
  • Continuation of service via a SIM card
  • Work-boosting modern devices

The core of what makes Zebra DNA so exceptional

Better Performance
Zebra DNA enables printers to perform at their peak, while Zebra’s customizable printer UX flattens learning curves. Print DNA gives organizations the fastest, most accurate and best-performing printers on the market.

Simplified Remote Management
Remote management tools make it simple to deploy large fleets of printers across multiple locations. IT can now maintain, secure and troubleshoot printers from anywhere, at any time — freeing up operations to focus on work, rather than printers.

Easier Integration
Print DNA enables fast and easy integration into existing infrastructures, with applications that emulate non-Zebra legacy languages, removing the need to rewrite print solutions. This reduces disruptions to operations during printer installations.
